Ok so I am going there...into the bathroom talk!
I have been surprisingly a tune to signs in bathrooms lately. Maybe it is once again being pregnant and needing to use restrooms a lot or what. What I mean by signs are home-made (either by hand or computer) signs with instructions on how to flush the toilet. Some have read, hold handle down until water disappears or please make sure handle is all the up after flush. Whatever the sign is, we in the first world country need to be reminded how to flush a toilet.
And this got me thinking. Really our regards for others has really went, well, down the toilet! We are called to "do onto others what you have done to you" and yet we live isolated worlds with our own agendas.
But we are called to be better. We are called to think not only about others when they are in front of us, but when we are alone. We are called to live better for others.
So the next time you are alone, in a public restroom, remember that those moments in life still count. Think about the next person. Let's work together to actually bring our society up to one in which we live for each other and not just ourselves. Imagine how much nicer it would be!
