Mission Statement

Cyber Sabbath's goal is to begin to mend the division between Christ and the world (society) that Church has created through reflections, sermons and devotionals

Cyber Sabbath is a place for the stifled Christian voice to be heard. Media gives way to much time to the extremist - over looking the theologically educated and/or the moderates in favor of what sells their view point. Here, politics aside, a pastor reflects on God's voice in every day life.

The face of God

War and conflict...harsh words and horrible slander...black list targeting...alienation...renunciation... With language like this you might think I was talking about our Government but instead I'm talking about our churches.

I am in constant battle within myself over churches and our polity.  For one, growing up in church and now being a leader I feel connected to those four walled buildings.  My daughter loves to go to church and see "her people" and I wouldn't want it any other way but at the same time, I know what we are doing as churches in the name of God and I can see why people are running and why people feel that churches really aren't out for God anymore.

Is the church relevant becomes the question of the day and my answer...I'm not sure that the church as we see it now is...but I am sure that a new church is.

I entitled this the "face of God" because for many years the church has been the face of God but in reality the church and many Christians have done a lot to deface it and I'm not so sure that this smeared crooked chipped imagine is the best way to represent who God is and at least our Makers idea of what we should be doing and following...

I wish I had more to say about this or a solution to the problem...

But there are people out doing things, supporting people and helping to change the world.
